About Melissa
I'm a wife, dog mom, chocolate lover, runner, wine drinker, fitness enthusiast, certified holistic health coach, and former music teacher. I am passionate about helping people learn to live a healthful life.
I believe that everything happens for a reason. A long, long time ago, I was a music teacher. Fast-forward 20+ years, lots of weight fluctuations, many diets, a few jobs, and a relocation from New York to South Carolina, I am now a website analyst who fell in love with running. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever have thought I would ever want to, let alone, be able to run. At first it was for weight loss, and I nearly hated every minute of this crazy form of torture. However, it didn't take too long for me to get hooked on the endorphins, and the rest is history.
As my quest to be a better runner grew, so did my need for knowledge of nutrition and overall fitness. I decided to get certified as a Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Over the last several years, my analytical brain has meshed with my enthusiasm for overall well-being, and have become mildly obsessed with self-quantification, analyzing runs, walks, all forms of exercise, food intake, energy output, and on and on. I am now in my 40s, and getting a much better understanding of who I really am, what my talents are, and what my talents are not. I am taking my experience from teaching, being a very left-brained analyst, and my own journey to wellness to the public. I will deliver information to anyone willing to take small steps to increase overall well-being in the form of tips and tricks, some cooking lessons and great recipe ideas.
